Our racing weekend!!

Saturday 28th November saw many excited race-goers at the HRIB Gold Cup at Borrowdale Park. For us at Equestrian Performance, it was a particularly emotional day with plenty of success. We had two horses who placed, alongside having 3 winners who did us so proud! The very special "Road to Dubai" proved to be in good form and went on to win the HRIB Sprint with much screaming and cheering from the team :)

Every time I support the owners, trainers and horses at Borrowdale park, I'm reminded of the extreme athleticism of these incredible animals. The intricate conditioning required to ensure success. A sport of oxymorons. A sport based on science and gut feeling, deliberate planning and a dash of luck, tears of joy... THE SPORT OF KINGS!!!!

The point in time that they cross the finish line, that magic moment, a powerful euphoria for the team behind that winner, the team behind Windigo, the team behind Supa Chellenge, the team behind Road to Dubai. That moment in the winners circle, where you can have a cuddle with a 600kg friend... But that's not all, we have horses who don't perform as we expect, and that is ok... Not every horse can be a winner but to us they are all champions... We treat them all the same, they all experience magic moments.

For me those moments are what make my job so worthwhile! Day in and day out I get to spend some quiet time with these animals, I get to feel compassion and empathy, "friendship without envy", "grace laced with muscle and strength confined by gentleness". My work is based on science but I choose to bring a depth to my sessions that I feel enhances psychological capacity. I let my hands bring healing

I have the best job in the world... I have horses <3

The thanks goes to them
